Two brothers and one girl whose interest is part love， part obsession， part a prize to win。 I may say this every time I write a Selena review。 She is NOT an author for everyone because she pushes things way， way far so far in fact you wonder how you can enjoy it。 I keep offering 5 stars because she never fails to make me feel a reaction whether it's uncomfortable or not。 Plus she has a writing style that wraps you up regardless of how dark things get。 And make no mistake they get dark， twisted， Two brothers and one girl whose interest is part love， part obsession， part a prize to win。 I may say this every time I write a Selena review。 She is NOT an author for everyone because she pushes things way， way far so far in fact you wonder how you can enjoy it。 I keep offering 5 stars because she never fails to make me feel a reaction whether it's uncomfortable or not。 Plus she has a writing style that wraps you up regardless of how dark things get。 And make no mistake they get dark， twisted， disturbed， and F-ed up。 I keep reading her though despite it all。 Not sure if it's curiosity as she's darker than most and I always wonder where she'll go with the stories and the characters that aren't wholly good or wholly bad。 With actions that aren't always bad， but usually end up despicable too。 It's confusing how you can root for characters such as these。I mean part of me wanted Rae to do the right thing and walk away from Lennox and Maddox because it isn't worth destroying their twin/family bond。 Partly I was Team Maddox though I wanted Lennox to have his own version of happy。 So yeah， take that how you like。 I plan to read the next book because I want to know。 。。。more

This book blew my mind and I loved every word。 This is a dark and twisted story but such an addictive read。 I could not put this book down。 As soon as I thought I had things figured out another twist。 You need to read this book！ The writing is excellent， the characters are flawed， dark and twisted and the story is painful but a must read！I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review。

This is a very intense dark mysteriously of a triangle with two twins that are fighting for Rae as she moves in next-door to them this is so intense that you think you’ve got it figured out but when you get to the next page it is not what you assume this is him not a story for the faint of heart this does have triggers and you read the warnings before you read this book

Still processing this one… I was surprisingly captivated throughout the book since I’m “a bit older” & long out of high school so have been passing over more and more series once I see that’s the setting recently （I have read many in this genre over the years， some exceptional， so exceptions still made for certain authors like Selena due to their writing styles）。 This book didn’t focus on the typical high school bullying。 It’s there。 But not what their settings were focused on or built around。 S Still processing this one… I was surprisingly captivated throughout the book since I’m “a bit older” & long out of high school so have been passing over more and more series once I see that’s the setting recently （I have read many in this genre over the years， some exceptional， so exceptions still made for certain authors like Selena due to their writing styles）。 This book didn’t focus on the typical high school bullying。 It’s there。 But not what their settings were focused on or built around。 She built another world on the other side of the tracks， bringing in colorful new characters （I’m sure we’ll be reading about them soon） while still keeping it a part of the web of that Arkansas town we’ve come to know from her other series， allowing cross overs to recognizable names/characters giving that feeling of familiarity。 But。。 There’s just still a lot to digest for me。 Not common。 I want to say it’s the FMC but it’s something more that just left me 🧐 。 I’m a huge fan of the darkness and this book is definitely the darkest I’ve read by Selena。 So be warned。 Some of those scenes could bother many。 I’m not one of them。。 At the end， it wasn’t the scene（s） or that I couldn’t see it coming， but more the FMC’s reactions/choices（？） and more often than not through the book， lack of。。？ But I guess not every FMC character is meant to rise up like a Phoenix prepared to destroy the world breathing fire or just decide not to decide between lesser evils （And they are。 Evil bastards） and start fresh elsewhere/seek other options。 But。。 Sometimes they want to be saved。 Don’t know anything else。 They aren’t meant to all be the same。 People aren’t。 And reading is for entertainment & to escape our own worlds， not perform psychoanalyses on all of the fictional characters expecting them to make all of the right choices， even in high school 🙄 that the majority of people in the world dont even do for themselves。 We want to see the smarts & strengths that we WANT to have。 Not that we are acting on ourselves。 Reading inspires。 Hence my dilemma。 My inspiration was to want to bang their heads together & knock some sense into them all。 Hearts and minds war。 In reality， we make a lot of bad decisions or stay in a lot of bad situations before we learn or make changes。 If ever。 Just the fact that I’ve written this much over the turmoil in my brain I’d say: Selena， job well done。 You’ve obviously invoked a range of thoughts & feelings that don’t often follow me out of many books anymore。 Touché 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Look…。 This book was really hard to rate for me for a couple of reasons。 One of them being I did enjoy the story until about the 70% mark， and then unfortunately it just fell a bit flat for me because of how rushed the ending felt， and on top of that， everything just went to shit and became a complete shit show。 I love Selena’s books and her writing， but this book was just extremely hard to rate。 but because I adore Selena’s writing and can’t imagine possibly giving her anything below 4 stars， I Look…。 This book was really hard to rate for me for a couple of reasons。 One of them being I did enjoy the story until about the 70% mark， and then unfortunately it just fell a bit flat for me because of how rushed the ending felt， and on top of that， everything just went to shit and became a complete shit show。 I love Selena’s books and her writing， but this book was just extremely hard to rate。 but because I adore Selena’s writing and can’t imagine possibly giving her anything below 4 stars， I rated it 4 stars… but idk I just wasn’t really vibing with the ending of this book or the last 25%。 Honestly， it started off very strong and sucked me in right away - Selena is the queen of writing borderline psychopathic anti hero’s and this was no different， it’s just I didn’t really vibe with either of the MMC’s… and it’s weird because I was totally for BOTH of them at the beginning of the book， but like I said at around 60% both MMC’s were honestly unredeemable in my eyes， and therefore I couldn’t really give a fuck what happened to them - like lowkey i wouldn’t even be mad if they both ended up ☠️ because it’s honestly what they deserved。 I mean for real， Maddox coming back from jail and literally doing what he did to Rae was extremely hard to read， and I’ve read Selena’s other books （referring to Exile series in this case） so I know what it’s like to read a those scene from her books， but at least in those books I liked Baron and Duke so it didn’t shake me as much as this particular scene did。 And as for Lennox， he was just as bad with his psychotic inner monologue talking about how he wanted to make Rae pay， build her up just so he could tear her down and break her？？ Like 911 hello。。？ I liked Lennox up until about 30-50% when he started exposing his true psychotic nature。 I mean he actually told her “you keep your pretty mouth shut， or we’ll slit your throat before we fill every hole in your body with cum and then bury you in the backyard。” Like please seek help or therapy 😩 and I loved Maddox so much until he came back from jail or whatever then did what he did to Rae。 In my eyes， both MMC’s in this we’re lowkey trash and I feel so bad saying this （Selena if you are reading this please don’t hate me I love you）。 And the ending felt a bit rushed， I wish she would of focused a bit more on her and Maddox’s relationship but nope it was bam fuck fuck tattoo her virgin blood onto her leg， then shotgun wedding。。 ugh there’s so many things I could say about this book and don’t get me wrong not all are negative because I did enjoy it until the ending， but still。 I will say if you want to read a book that grips you from the beginning with extremely morally grey characters （almost morally black imo） then read this book， because again Selena’s writing is phenomenal， and she definitely knows how to write psychotic anti hero’s。 This book made me miss Royal Dolce sooooo much though and in my eyes （I mean never say never）， no character she writes again will ever compare to the greatness and sexiness of Royal Dolce。 That man is so fine and he can have my children idcAnd as for Lennox… I know that Selena is writing his book or has already written it so I’m excited for that to come out， I’ll most likely still read it even though I didn’t really like Lennox in this book！EDIT: Going to try to edit this review because I wrote it last night at 3am when I finished the book， and didn’t really give myself time to process。 Anyways， I realize that this review can come off pretty negative and I just want to say I did NOT mean to come off like that when I wrote it， so I am re-editing it and adding the points of the story I did like。 First of all， I loved how Maddox was so protective of Rae， like he literally beat up her step dad for hurting her and also he protected her from the bullies at school which I thought were really sweet。 On top of that， he was very very sexy。。 As for Lennox I don’t really have much to say about him but he was nice and sweet in the beginning which I appreciated。 Overall it was a good book don’t get me wrong！ 。。。more
